Located on the hilltop in Orio looking down over the mouth of the river Oria, the legendary Katxiña Brasserie is finally closing its doors to embrace retirement. Behind those doors are 40 years serving grilled fish and meats as part of Orio’s fishing village tradition. Their star ingredient has always been a good helping of TLC, which applies to both their cooking and their customer service. Guests have gradually turned into friends and loyal supporters. After a long journey, Jose Miguel Zendoia (the king of the grill along with the deceased Joxé Etxezarreta), his wife Maria Pilar Etxezarreta (the chef known especially for her mouth-watering croquettes) and Mari Carmen Atxega (in charge of providing excellent service and looking after customers) are ready to close the brasserie and open a new chapter of the lives they have not yet had the chance to live. Time to relax and enjoy life!

As our parents leave the brasserie behind, we will be moving forward with Bodega Katxiña serving grilled fish and meat married with Katxiña Txakoli, a special dry white wine we have always made in our own winery. We look forward to welcoming you!
